Practice vs. Practise

| | Share

I was looking at more TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) programs online today and saw one that asked for applicants to complete a grammar and vocabulary assessment questionnaire. One of the items it asked was for the difference between practice and practise.

In common usage in the U.S., practice is spelled the same way for the noun and transitive verb form. In the United Kingdom however, the noun form is spelled with a c and the transitive verb form is spelled with an s.

In case you've forgotten, a transitive verb is a verb with an object.

I found the definition for the difference between the two terms using the Cambridge online dictionary for the complete explanation.
